Still going! Update and inspirations
Hey all,
I've kept trucking on this project and getting some factions together.
Inspirations:
The town (that I should probably come up with a name for lol) is based quite a bit on Brownville, NE. Once the largest town in the state, situated on a major river, now has less than 150 souls, as rail travel became the preferred method of freight to boats.
Seeking inspiration, I found a story set in Brownville, A Resurrection by Willa Cather. I've never really been a fan of Cather, but this story is... oddly weird for her? I decided to run with this Water Goddess thing.
So the Soy Bean farmers conducted a ritual to seal the town in a pocket dimension with the assistance of this Water Goddess for reasons. Most likely to keep their thumb on Big Corn, who are always shoving and jockeying to gain influence.
That's all for now, just wanted you to see some of my starting points.
